Operation Hydra - Taking Down Westboro Baptist

The goal of Hydra is to create an atmosphere of distrust and fear about Westboro Baptist through various means. We will attempt to make them out to be the terrorists they are, and with any luck we will land them on a Watch List. This is NOT a DDOS attack, this is NOT a massacre, this will not be quick. But, the end goal is worth the effort.

Hydra can be separated in to 3 phases:

Phase 1 - Cut out the media. Write letters asking them to not have anything to do with Westboro Baptist or anything that happens to them.

Subphase 1 - Infiltration (if one can stand being in their ranks) would result in having a key spy in their ranks and provide a focal point for rallying should the spy choose to break from their ranks. This could include acting violently at a protest, resulting in immediate breakup of protest.

Phase 2 - Have an ESTABLISHED blog post an article detailing how Westboro Baptist could endanger the American people, soldiers, homosexuals, etc. via violent acts. Have multiple miniblogs link to this blog. Link to the miniblogs via social networking. This could also pertain to a newspaper article/journal article.

Phase 3 - Search bomb Google/Yahoo/AskJeeves/whatever with 'Westboro Baptist Terrorists" and other searches. This will spark interest of the people who have heard about it from social networking, and prompt them to check it out.

This would also be an opportune time for any spies to do something drastic (shooting at military, hate crimes, whatever). The goal is #1 on ALL Top Search lists.

Relative timeline should be Phase 1 about 2-3 months prior to Phase 2, allowing time for spies to take their places and for media curiosity about Westboro to dissipate.

I feel like this is a pretty solid plan, except one of the search terms to Google-bomb should be "westboro baptist church child abuse", as there are already articles and blog posts on it. There should also be more than one person infiltrating the WBC to make that subphase successful.

i agree if you want this plan to work your definitly going to need more than one person as a spy, youll also need them to know each other are spies

if one person within the church is acting strange, theyre probably going to throw him out, or at least he wont be trusted

The issue with a child abuse platform rather than a terrorism platform is the consideration of movement within their protest areas. If we demonize the WBC as child abusers, this might be looked in to, assessed, and dismissed. They would be scorned by child safety organizations and their message branded as worthless, but there is no distinct change because they are already scorned by everyone with half a brain.

However, a terrorism platform - such as spreading rumors of planned violence at demonstrations or ties to other terror organisations - would lead to censorship by the government for either WBC's safety or the safety of the American public. This would effectively censor their message and prevent them from protesting, for fear of violence. Dually, on the off chance that WBC is labeled a terror group, that would mean that any person associated with WBC is on a no-fly list and cannot get a job. Members of WBC are so zealous that they would not deny affiliation, and thus have limited options to spread their message outside their immediate sphere of influence and no way to give monetary support to the church.

The media will always cover them, because they are controversial and controversy jacks up ratings and gives the media more money.


Infiltration and subsequent acting out will land the infiltrators in jail, or at risk of being retaliated against. I would leave that to professional government organizations, as they have the infrastructure for such risky operations. We don't- short and sweet.

Let's tear down their organization quietly. Don't let their press releases to spread through us, or at least mask the perception that the press releases are important.

Perception is key. We need to do this without giving WBC a leg up in publicity. We must be invisible, and WBC must be made to seem invisible and silent in the media and on the internet, as these are the domains that Anon can hold sway in.

One issue. The church is basically made up of people who are related to each other. I'm not sure if they even let ppl join, they know how hated they are and know lots of people want them taken down. I think you are allowed to go to their little hate seminars and stuff but real membership is strictly for family.

Send the church a message: "if you want out, contact with us." Pull the family a part. The way I see it, the only difference between Shirley and the crazy lady walking around yelling shit on the street is the other people with her. I realize we'd have to open our selves up to potential spies ourselves, but would it be worth a shot? Thoughts?
